SEOUL, Nov. 21 (Yonhap) --

Actress Song Ji-hyo’s side signaled a firm legal response after allegations surfaced claiming her father had failed to repay debts.

Law firm Namsan, representing her agency Nexus ENM, said Wednesday it recently received an email raising issues about Song’s father, including a draft banner alleging his company was in arrears and referencing her status as a celebrity’s parent.

The firm said the banner appeared intended to damage Song’s reputation and image and disrupt Nexus ENM’s normal business by placing it in front of the agency.

It stressed that the agency “will not tolerate any form of threats, pressure or unfair acts that infringe upon the actor’s honor and personality rights or interfere with the company’s legitimate business activities,” adding that it will pursue all possible legal measures, including criminal complaints and damage claims, if such actions continue.

Song debuted as a magazine model in 2001 and has starred in films such as “A Frozen Flower” and “New World,” and dramas including “Princess Hours” and “Gyebaek.” She has been a fixed cast member of SBS’ variety show “Running Man” for 15 years since 2010.
