SEOUL, July 16 (Yonhap) -- The "2026 Women Inventors Expo," showcasing innovative ideas and inventions by female inventors from around the world, will be held at COEX The Platz in Seoul's Gangnam district from Thursday through Saturday.

 

According to the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the expo will bring together the Korea International Women's Invention Exposition and the World Women's Invention Competition, featuring outstanding inventions by women from South Korea and abroad.

 

Marking its 26th edition this year, the Korea International Women's Invention Exposition will showcase innovative products from 54 women-led Korean companies.

 

Visitors will be able to explore and purchase inventions in a wide range of fields, including home living, beauty, industry, technology and food.

 

During the event, a live commerce program will offer selected women's inventions at discounts of up to 50 percent.

 

The 19th World Women's Invention Competition has attracted a record 595 entries from 21 countries.

 

The expo will also feature a variety of hands-on programs utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

 

Visitors can take part in activities such as "AI Magic Sketch," which transforms hand-drawn pictures into AI-generated artwork, "AI Caricature," which creates instant caricatures through facial recognition, and a DIY key ring workshop.

 

"The Women Inventors Expo is a leading global festival that highlights the innovation and technological capabilities of women inventors while creating new opportunities for growth," Kim Yong-sun, commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, said. "We will provide full support to help women's creative and practical ideas be commercialized into patented products and advance into global markets."
