SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor Kim Seon-ho, who admitted to allegations on forcing his ex-girlfriend to have an abortion, will no longer appear as a regular cast member for the entertainment program "2 Days & 1 Night."
"We have decided to drop out actor Kim Seon-ho, who has recently been embroiled in controversy," the production team for KBS' "2 Days & 1 Night" program said Wednesday. "We plan to edit footage that was filmed beforehand in order to minimize inconvenience for the viewers."
As a result, the upcoming episode, which is scheduled to air on Oct. 24, is expected to have edited out most of Kim's footage.
On Oct. 17, when an anonymous writer, who claimed to be an ex-girlfriend of rising star "Actor K," exposed that she had been coerced into getting an abortion, many people speculated that Actor K referred to Kim, who has been gaining popularity for his performance in tvN's drama "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha."
Three days after the controversy erupted, Kim belatedly admitted and apologized on Wednesday, saying, "I hurt her due to my carelessness and inconsiderate behavior."
Kim is unlikely to appear in his next films, such as "Sad Tropics" and "Dog Days," after being dropped out from "2 Days & 1 Night."
