SEOUL, May 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean boy band Super Junior has been named the ambassador of the Saudi Arabia Tourism Authority, its agency said Tuesday.

During the Seoul Road Show Gala Dinner, the group received its letter of appointment as a goodwill ambassador. The inauguration was held at the Westin Josun Hotel in Seoul on Sunday, according to SM Entertainment.

Back in 2019, Super Junior marked the very first Asian singer to hold a concert in Saudi Arabia. The act has now become the first-ever artist to be appointed as a goodwill ambassador since the establishment of the Saudi Arabia Tourism Authority.
