SEOUL, May 7 (Yonhap) -- "'It was a daily occurrence to hear about billions. I truly enjoyed watching it."
The Netflix reality series 'Super Rich in Korea,' which portrays the lives of foreign millionaires living in Korea, will be unveiled on the 7th.
MC Mimi of girl group Oh My Girl expressed her thoughts during the online Netflix 'Super Rich in Korea' production presentation on this day, saying, "Unimaginable things are captured in the broadcast, and it was fun to see the human side of the 'super-rich' amidst it all."
'Super Rich in Korea' is an entertainment program that observes the daily lives of the top 1% of the wealthiest individuals who have moved their lives to Korea due to their fondness for Korean culture.
It features participants such as Ryu Hee-la, dubbed the 'Paris Hilton of Korea,' Pakistani aristocrat Kim An-na, Italian luxury brand scion Teodoro, and Nur Name, a 'super influencer' with 50 million followers. The released teaser showed scenes of the cast likening supercars to 'chewing gum prices' and boasting about their 30-pyeong-sized dressing rooms.
Mimi remarked, "I realized that K-culture is loved by more people than I thought," adding, "I felt that many overseas individuals wanted to come to Korea and experience the culture firsthand."
She further hinted, "You'll be able to see not only the personal lives of the cast but also their chemistry."
Alongside Mimi, TV personality Jo Se-ho and GOT7's BamBam will serve as MCs.
Jo Se-ho shared, "I felt pride in thinking that Korea is such a beautiful country to these outsiders," while BamBam commented, "There were scenes where I felt that no matter how much money you have, human life is all the same," and added, "There are also many words and messages that could be helpful to viewers' lives."
Director Park Hye-sung mentioned that it took more than half of the production period to cast the participants, saying, "We focused on the super-rich individuals' intentions for coming to Korea."
He also suggested, "It would be nice if viewers paid attention to parts like 'Why did a Singaporean millionaire who travels around the world come to Korea?'"
