Actor Ji Chang-wook cast for leading role in A+E Network drama

SEOUL, Sept. 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actors Ji Chang-wook, Sung Dong-il, and actress Choi Soo-young have been cast as the main characters in an original drama tentatively titled "If You Tell Your Wish" in English, according to broadcasting company A+E Networks Korea.

This drama which is said to have been inspired by an actual foundation that grants the last wishes of terminal cancer patients in Netherlands. A young man, who is driven to the end of his life, enters a hospice hospital under a community service order to fulfill the last wishes of patients.

Ji plays the role of Yoon Gyeo-re, a young man who serves in the hospice hospital after going through a orphanage, youth detention center and prison his whole life.

Kang Tae-sik, who is played by Sung, is the volunteer work leader at the hospital while Choi takes on the role of Seo Yeon-joo, a nurse at the hospital.

Director Kim Yong-wan of the films "The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey" and "Champion" will be in charge of directing while the script will be by screenwriter Cho Ryung-soo, who wrote "I Can Speak" and "Golden Slumber." The production company Climax Studio, which produced the Netflix drama series "D.P," "Hellbound," and the drama "The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey."

The production investment will be made by A&E Networks Korea, a global media group jointly created by The Walt Disney Company and media group Hearst Communications. It aims to air not only in Asia but also North America at the same time, and it will also push for a remake of global major studios.
