SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- On the 7th (local time), when the Republic of Korea Army Band was held, there were young audiences gathered early in front of the outdoor stage in Mexico Park, Mexico City, Mexico.

They were fans who came to see In-seong of SF9 who visited Mexico as a member of the Korea Army Band.

The Korea Army Band, which came to Mexico to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Mexico, performed at a joint military concert with the Mexican military on the 3rd along with events for veterans and a reception commemorating the establishment of diplomatic ties. However, this was the first day to perform for normal citizens.

Fans who heard the news of their favorite star's visit to Mexico through social media visited the park, waiting for him with signs such as "You can do it, Soldier Kim In-seong" and "Let’s Go Korean Soldier".

Ambar, a fan from Pachuca, about 100km away from Mexico City, said, “I thought I would not see In-seong for a while since he enlisted. So, I'm really happy to be able to meet him so unexpectedly in Mexico.”

Another fan who was wearing an SF9 T-shirt could not hide her joy as she got to meet a K-pop idol in Mexico.

“Since it is neither a K-pop event nor a SF9 performance, but a military band performance, everyone should be cheered the same,” said SF9’s fan club “Fantasy” in Mexico, ahead of the performance. “We must refrain from excessive shouting so that we won’t disturb the performance, and we should make sure that the Koreans feel comfortable.”

Inseong, who was in charge of the event, responded to the support of the Mexican fans by singing SF9's “O Sole Mio”.

On this day, the Army Military Band received cheers from the Mexican audiences with performances of various genres, such as pangut (Entertainment Rite), woodwind quintet, as well as Disney OSTs, song medley, and K-pop cover dance.
