SEOUL, Sept. 7 (Yonhap) -- Suh Kyung-bae, chairman of Amorepacific Group, marked the company's 81st anniversary by emphasizing its commitment to global growth through its "New Beauty" vision, calling for the company to become one that "sets new standards of beauty for customers around the world."
According to Amorepacific Group on Monday, Suh made the remarks at a ceremony held Sept. 4 at the group's headquarters in Seoul's Yongsan District to mark its 81st anniversary.
"The driving forces behind Amorepacific's 81-year history have been customer-centricity and a pioneering spirit," Suh said. "Our path toward New Beauty is to anticipate changes in customers, pioneer new areas and create beauty cultures that have never existed before."
He added, "The distribution landscape has been reshaped around digital platforms, while competition has intensified and the pace of change has accelerated amid growing global interest in K-culture. Let's quickly execute on the challenges of our time and take the lead in creating new products, routines and cultures that can transform customers' daily lives."
Last year, marking its 80th anniversary, Amorepacific Group unveiled its "Create New Beauty" vision and established five strategic priorities: focusing on key global markets, strengthening integrated beauty solutions, developing anti-aging products based on biotechnology, pursuing agile organizational innovation and transforming work through artificial intelligence (AI).
This year, the group is accelerating its challenges in global markets, creating beauty solutions encompassing both inner and outer well-being, and innovating its ways of working as key tasks for realizing the New Beauty vision.
In particular, based on its "Holistic Longevity" technology vision, the group plans to expand its business from skincare to hair care and wellness and build distinctive competitiveness in biotech-based beauty. It also plans to boost the speed and productivity of execution across its operations through a major AI transformation.
"We must be the first to read changes in customers, act quickly and see things through with persistence," Suh said. "Let's create our own New Beauty with the customer-centricity and pioneering spirit we've maintained for 81 years and move vigorously toward the world."
Founded on Sept. 5, 1945, Amorepacific Group aims to achieve 15 trillion won in annual sales by 2035 and become a leading global beauty and wellness company.
