SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Yonhap) -- Singer Song Ha-yea who gained popularity with ballad songs “Your regards” and “Another Love” will make a comeback with a breakup song. Song said at a showcase for the release of her new song "Winter Rain" in CGV Yeouido, “I want to hear that I’ve matured through the new song.”
The new song “Winter Rain,” released after 4 months, portrays the past lover as winter rain.
Song appeared in the music video and acted as a lover who faced a breakup.
Song said, "It's a winter rain song released at the end of winter," adding, "Through the song, I expressed the numbness after the heartbreak had passed.”
She said if she showed the heartbroken side through the past songs “Your regards” and “Another Love,” she wants to show a mature version of herself that sends a message, “It’s okay," “I’m an adult,” through the new song.
The singer who drew attention for her sad breakup songs said she wants to continue to be titled a “ballad idol.”
Song explained, "My voice itself has a lot of resentment and allows (the listener) to relate with the sadness," adding, "I usually call myself Balladol (ballad+idol), but it doesn't mean an idol, but a dorai (weirdo) who sings ballad songs."
“It would be a lie if I say I don’t have any expectations. I would be happy if the song makes in the charts,” said the singer.
She said, "My dream is to sing until I become a grandma," adding, "I hope I can do music that gives comfort and strength to many people regardless of genre. I want to do music according to my life.”
Song’s new song will be released through online music sites today at 6 p.m.
