SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) -- The Korean Federation of Film Archives (KOFA) announced on Friday that it will release digital copies of censorship records for foreign films.

 

These records encompass detailed information related to the import and screening of international films, including censorship notes, promotional materials, age ratings, screening approvals, and contracts. 

 

Unlike domestic film censorship records, which are relatively well-documented, these foreign film records have remained largely unknown, offering new insights into the import system and historical context of foreign films in Korea.

 

The released records span from "The Search (1948)" to "Pulp Fiction (1994)," covering nearly five decades of foreign film importation.

 

These documents will be accessible to the public at the Multimedia Section of KOFA's Film Library in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
