SEOUL, Feb. 12 (Yonhap) -- K-pop supergroup BTS raked in another 6 gold medals at the 2022 Hanteo Music Awards, which marked the global K-pop festival’s 30th anniversary.
The mega-hit boy band won the Grand Prize for Best Song and Best Artist, the WhosFandom Award, the Artist of the Year (Bonsang), and the Global Artist Award for all continents at the two-day awards ceremony that was held at Jamsil Arena in Seoul from Feb. 10 to 11.
In addition to the Global Artist Award (Africa) that was bestowed to Jin – the oldest member of the group who is currently serving in the military –, the septet took home a total of 6 trophies.
Meanwhile, NCT Dream won this year’s Grand Prize for Best Album, and Stray Kids received the Grand Prize for Best Performance.
Along with BTS, Kang Daniel, Kim Ho-joong, BLACK PINK, Seventeen, STAYC, Stray Kids, aespa, NCT 127, IVE, (G)I-DLE, Young-tak, NCT Dream, ENHYPEN, Lim Young-woong, and TXT also won the Artist of the Year Award.
Hanteo-Music Awards held its very first in-person festival this year in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Hantaeo Chart, a South Korean music chart that has been holding K-pop big data since 1993.
