SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- 

SHINee member Onew has denied allegations of receiving illegal medical services from an individual known online as “injection auntie,” who is accused of treating celebrities without proper medical qualifications.

 

In a statement released on Thursday, Onew’s agency Griffin Entertainment said he first visited a clinic in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, in April 2022 on a friend’s recommendation, where the individual in question worked.

 

Given the clinic’s size and circumstances, Onew had no way of knowing about the license controversy now spreading online, the agency said.

 

Online, some users raised questions after learning that Onew had given the individual an autographed CD, implying possible involvement in illegal treatments.

 

Griffin said Onew’s visit was solely for skin care and that the signed CD was simply a gesture of appreciation, expressing regret over the spread of unsubstantiated claims.
