SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- The cast of hit tvN series "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" will reunite for a travel variety show marking the series’ 10th anniversary, the broadcaster said Thursday.

Actors Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun and Yoo In-na, who starred in the 2016 drama, will appear together in the program tentatively titled “Goblin 10th Anniversary,” set to air in the first half of this year.

The original series, also known as “Goblin,” is a fantasy romance about an immortal goblin seeking a human bride to end his eternal life, whose fate becomes intertwined with a girl claiming to be his destined partner and an amnesiac grim reaper.

Written by star screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, known for works such as “Lovers in Paris,” “Secret Garden,” “Descendants of the Sun” and “The Glory,” the drama became the first cable TV series in Korea to surpass a 20 percent viewership rating at the time of its broadcast.

The upcoming program will follow the four actors on a short trip as they reflect on the drama’s lasting impact and significance.

It will be produced as part of a special lineup marking both the drama’s 10th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of tvN.

tvN said the drama remains a symbolic work that continues to receive steady love beyond its original airing, adding that the program is expected to evoke viewers’ memories and nostalgia for a beloved series.
