SEOUL March 5 (Yonhap) -- Singer Lim Young-woong will be releasing his new song that he performed yesterday during TV Chosun's trot competition show, "Miss Trot 2".

The singer's entertainment agency, New Era Project, announced on Friday that his new song, "My Starlight" will be released next Tuesday.

"My Starlight-like Love" was originally a song gifted to Lim Young-woong from the veteran singer Sul Woon-do, also known as one of the "Four Great Trot Kings" in Korea. The main message of the song deals with showing gratitude and love for the person who has been by his side for a long time.

The song includes subtle lyrics such as "After all these years I have realized how precious you are to me" and "You are my eternal love," as well as Lim Young-woong's sweet vocals.

Lim Young-woong appeared on the last episode of "Miss Trot 2", which aired yesterday and performed his new song for the first time to the public.

He mentioned, "I started a brand new life after performing on this stage during 'Mr. Trot'. I'm honored to be able to present my new song here on this very stage."

The trot singer rose to stardom after competing on the trot survival show, "Mr. Trot" after he won first place.

After the TV show came to an end, Lim Young-woong released a new song "Trust in Me" in 2020. The song still remains at the top of Korea's major music charts and the cover songs the singer performs on TV also receive a lot of attention. Furthermore, Lim Young-woong's song, "Hero"--originally used for a car commercial--was officially released for the public hear due to the fan's continuous requests.
