Netflix variety show 'Death Game' to premiere on Jan. 28

SEOUL, Jan. 14 (Yonhap) -- 

Netflix will premiere its new variety show "Death Game: Bet 10 Million Won" at 5 p.m. on Jan. 28, the streaming service said Wednesday.

 

"Death Game" is a new-style brain survival program in which the outcome is decided through a single one-on-one game. The series is produced by TEO, the production company led by renowned producer Kim Tae-ho.

 

The lineup includes former professional Go player Lee Sedol; former pro gamer-turned-broadcaster Hong Jin-ho; TV personality Yurisa; professional poker player Seven High; travel YouTuber Pani Bottle; chef Kwon Sung-jun, winner of "Black and White Chef 1" and known as Napoli Matfia; actor Park Sung-woong; and the popular penguin character Pengsoo.

 

Commentary will be provided by e-sports caster Park Sang-hyun and TV personality Jang Dong-min, who has won multiple survival programs, including "The Genius" and the "Bloody Game" series.

 

"Death Game" will release episodes 1 and 2 at 5 p.m. on Jan. 28, followed by one new episode every Wednesday at 5 p.m. on Netflix.
