SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) -- FT Island's drummer Choi Min-hwan has suspended his activities following a personal life controversy sparked by remarks made by his ex-wife, Yulhee, a former member of LABOUM.
On the 25th, Choi's agency, FNC Entertainment, stated, "We cannot fully ascertain the details regarding personal issues between the couple. However, Choi Min-hwan feels a strong sense of responsibility for disappointing many people, including viewers, and has decided to step away from all media activities, including his current appearances with his children."
Choi Min-hwan and Yulhee married in 2018 after welcoming their first son, and they later had twin daughters, raising three children together. The couple also appeared on KBS 2TV's variety show Mr. House Husband 2. However, after five years of marriage, they divorced last year, with Choi gaining custody of the children.
The controversy arose when Yulhee, in a video posted on her YouTube channel the previous day, claimed that during their marriage, Choi visited entertainment establishments and even placed money in his own shirt in front of family members.
As the issue gained traction, there was an outcry online questioning the appropriateness of Choi's continued appearance on KBS 2TV's childcare reality show The Return of Superman with his children. In response, FNC Entertainment announced his decision to halt all activities.
"We sincerely apologize for causing discomfort and concern to many people," the agency said.
