SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Yonhap) -- "I believe that putting ideas into actions is the most attractive characteristic of Ro-seo. She is bold and not obsessed with stereotypes…Ro-seo is a wise friend."
Hye-ri(28), the female lead of KBS 2TV's Monday and Tuesday drama "Moonshine," which ended on Feb. 22, expressed her affection for her role in a recent online interview.
Kang Ro-seo, played by Hye-ri, is the daughter of a noble family, but she is a brave character who doesn’t hesitate to do unpleasant tasks to support her brother in passing the government exam. As a person whose family comes first over pride, Ro-seo ended up illegally brewing alcohol to make a living.
Hye-ri said, "I liked the fact that she was trying to break a taboo by crossing the line," adding, "I’m the type of person who follows the rules so her aspects even looked cooler.”
She added, "I acted while thinking about how viewers could sympathize with this character, who violated the law."
The actress said that she filmed many difficult scenes, where she had to drag a cart containing alcohol and to be chased by creditors, with little makeup during the film.
"The cart was much heavier than I thought. It was hard since there were so many scenes where I ran while dragging it. I even went into fertilized fields and it was exhausting. I was able to continue acting by thinking ‘Ro-seo must be determined to go into this place.’”
Hye-ri then gave thanks to the fellow actor, "I wasn’t worried because actor Yoo Seung-ho was with me. He was great as I expected.”
