SEOUL, Apr. 17 (Yonhap) -- The sea of Dangjin in North Chungcheon Province has been receiving the spotlight after a YouTube video was uploaded for international viewing ahead of the release of the brand-new album of Suga from the K-pop supergroup BTS.
In a YouTube video titled “SUGA’s Dictionary of Useful Knowledge,” released by Disney Plus Korea on April 7 which so far recorded more than 450,000 views, Suga shared that he prefers to travel to the sea rather than climb the mountains while mentioning the sea near the city of Danjin as his favorite travel destination in South Korea.
While recommending the sea, this member of the K-pop sensation added that he stayed in Danjin for three days to work on his upcoming solo debut album.
Meanwhile, the city of Dangjin is also known for Waemok Village and Nanji Island: Waemok Village, which is named after the neck of a heron or the neck of a person lying down, is a domestic tourist attraction famous for its fascinating sunrise and sunset. The village has also been named one of the most beautiful fishing villages by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Another travel spot, Nanji Island, has been attracting swimmers with its white sandy beach and shallow sea, along with a camping site and convenience facilities operated by the city.
Waemok Village and the beach along Nanji Island are scheduled to open for 40 days from early July to the end of August.
