SEOUL, Apr. 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korean budding actor Yoon Chang-young is set to star as a gangster possessed by the spirit of a high school student.

Along with Yoon, veteran actors Lee Seo-jin and Bong Jae-hyun have confirmed to star in production house Number 3 Pictures’ upcoming fantasy series “I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler” (literal translation), the producer confirmed Thursday. They will begin shooting in the first half of this year.

The series will follow the story of a 47-year-old gangster who finds himself to be possessing the high schooler’s body after an unexpected incident. He then chases after and punishes the one who is responsible for the accident and becomes friends with a friend suffering from domestic violence.

Yoon will suit up as Song E-heon, a 19-year-old high school student who has lived a quiet life due to his small physique and timidness. However, he comes to live a completely different life when Kim Deuk-pal, an ironically honest and brawny gangster, takes over his body.

Lee Seo-jin is set to star as Kim, a gangster who, in contrast to his sharp impression and muscular physique, has a warm heart with humility.

Boy band Golden Child’s Bong Jae-hyun has been slated to play the role of Choi Se-kyung, a high school student with excellent grades and an eye-catching appearance. He who seems to have everything turns out to be a rather sensitive and feisty teenager.
