SEOUL, Mar. 5 (Yonhap) -- Actor Lim Si-wan donated 20 million won to the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea to support Ukrainian citizens amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, his agency Plum A&C said on Saturday.
Lim Si-wan also uploaded a picture on his Instagram, booking an Airbnb in Ukraine with the intention of no-showing.
The agency said, "We understand that Lim participated in the recent movement because he thought it had a good purpose.”
The recent movement is to help Ukrainian citizens of the embattled country through the sharing accommodation platform Airbnb.
People are booking Airbnb rentals with no intention to show up, and the hosts receive direct payment.
Lim captured and posted a message sent to the host along with a reservation for a Kyiv accommodation from Mar. 7 to Apr. 4 through Airbnb.
Lim said, “I just booked your hotel for a month and of course, I’m not going to be visiting,” adding, “Hope you and the people in Kyiv are safe.”
Lim is currently starring in MBC TV’s Friday-Saturday drama “Tracer,” and his movie “Emergency Declaration” is set to be released soon.
