SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Yonhap) -- Ridi's popular web-novel based on Boys-Love (BL) will meet fans next month as drama.

Ridi announced on Wednesday that a drama based on an web-novel "The New Employee" will be released as Watcha exclusive on Dec. 21.

Generation Blue Film and T2N Media produced the drama, and actors Kwon Hyuk and Moon Ji-yong will appear.

"The New Employee" is a web-novel by writer Moscareto which depicts the office romance between team leader and intern in the setting of advertisement company. The novel received best award at Ridi BL Comic Awards when it was produced as webtoon of the same name in 2020.

This is not the first time drama based on Ridi's BL web-novel or webtoon was aired on Watcha, video streaming service in Korea.

Previously in last February, Ridi's hit work "Semantic Error" was produced as Watcha original drama and made a hit. The drama topped most-watched program chart for eight consecutive weeks, and the script came in sixth on Kyobo Book Centre, the largest bookstore chain in S.Korea. Main casts received Most Popular Star awards at the 1st Blue Dragon Series Awards.
