SEOUL, July 25 (Yonhap) --The Danyang Garlic Festival in North Chungcheong Province, which was held offline for the first time in three years, recorded sales of close to 300 million won.

According to Danyang county on Monday, the sales amount of the 16th Danyang Garlic Festival, which was held at Danyang Eco Sports Park from July 22 till July 24, was 137 million won.

If the 150 million won earned from the sales of related events is added, the total sales of this festival is 277 million won.

Despite the indecisive weather, where the rain kept on coming and going, many tourists visited the sales event, where 4,000 garlic cloves were all sold.

On July 23, 200 garlic cloves prepared for the live commerce were also sold out.

The county plans to conduct various marketing activities including a special sale of fresh garlic, TV home shopping, and many more.

"I recommend a trip to Danyang for summer vacation, as you will be able to go on a healing tour while also purchasing agricultural products that are good for the body including garlic," said an official of the county.

Danyang garlic is not only hard and strong, but has excellent flavor as well. It has also received the Grand Prize for the national representative brand for seven consecutive years.
