S.Korean movie 'The Owl' to attract audience for first weekend of premiere

SEOUL November 25 (Yonhap) -- South Korean historical movie “The Owl” will be attracting the audience for the first weekend of its premiere.

According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Friday, South Korean movie “The OWL” which premiered on November 23, topped the south Korean box office by attracting over 180 thousand admission.

Movie “The Owl” featuring actor Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol is a movie about a blind fortune teller who witnesses the death of So Hyeon, the crown prince, going on a journey to uncover the truth.

According to the reservation rate observed on the morning of November 25, “The Owl” had the reservation rate of 27.6 percent which is equivalent to nearly 81 thousand admissions.

Marvel Hero movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” placed second on the S.Korean box office by attracting 1.84 million audiences, and South Korean movie “Decibel” featuring Kim Rae-won, and Le Jong-suk was ranked third by attracting 62 thousand admission.

Although “Decibel” topped the South Korean box office within the first few days of the week, after “The Owl” premiered on to the silver screen, interest for “Decibel” slowly died down.
