'She's Gone' Miljenko Matijevic sings in Hanbok for peace between North and South Korea

SEOUL, Mar. 22 (Yonhap) -- Miljenko Matijevic, a vocalist of the rock band Steelheart who sang “She's Gone,” which is one of the best karaoke songs for Korean men who have confidence in singing, recently released a special song.

The singer was inspired by the news about North-South relations on TV and wrote a song “Trust in Love.” It is a song written by an American from Croatia, wishing for new changes and peace between North and South Korea.

Matijevic explained in a written interview with Yonhap News Agency on Mar. 22, "’Trust in Love’ was made with love towards Koreans and hope of reunification of two parties.”

The English and Korean lyrics contain a message to become one through peace and love.

Matijevic said in terms of singing in Korean lyrics, "Singing and learning Korean itself is my sincere respect for Koreans.”

In the music video, he rings the "Korean Friendship Bell" located in California, United States.

The singer, who wore Hanbok to show respect for the Korean peninsula and to promote the beauty of Korean Cultural Heritage, emphasized, "The new song delivers a message to everyone, especially the leaders of North and South Korea."

Matijevic said, "It's time for a new trend and a new world to begin. I think it's clear that the 'old-fashioned way' doesn't work anymore," adding, "The war going on right now proves it to all of us."

He also pointed out, "It's time for us to stop procrastinating and stand up for ourselves and the Earth," adding, "The war and conflict are worthless.”

Matijevic recently recorded the new version of “She’s Gone” with the orchestra to mark the 30th anniversary of its release, saying, "I'm looking forward to visiting Korea soon and singing with freedom.”
