SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group Stray Kids will appear as a headliner at the large-scale music festival “Rock in Rio,” set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from Sept. 4-7 and Sept. 11-13 next year, their agency JYP Entertainment said Wednesday.
Launched in 1985, “Rock in Rio” is regarded as one of the world’s largest music festivals and has featured renowned artists such as Queen, Guns N’ Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Stray Kids will headline the Sept. 11 show, becoming the first K-pop act ever to be named a headliner at the festival.
The group released its latest album, “DO IT,” on Monday, which quickly achieved million-seller status on the day of its release.
