Seoul, June 5 (Yonhap) -- Renowned singer G-Dragon has been appointed as a special professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
According to the music industry on the 5th, G-Dragon received his appointment certificate at the "Innovate Korea 2024" event held at KAIST’s main campus in Daejeon. KAIST reportedly invited him as a special professor to integrate cutting-edge science and technology with K-content.
During the event, G-Dragon participated in a talk show alongside KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung and Galaxy Corporation CEO Choi Yong-ho.
G-Dragon has shown a keen interest in advanced technology, evidenced by his visit to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas this past January, where he engaged with virtual reality (VR) experiences. His agency, Galaxy Corporation, is also known for its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and the metaverse.
G-Dragon is currently preparing a new album, with plans for a comeback in the latter half of this year.
