SEOUL, July 19 (Yonhap) -- JTBC drama “My Liberation Diary” appeared in President of S.Korea, Yoon Seok-youl’s report of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport on Monday.

While President Yoon and Land Minister Won Hee-ryong discussed expanding transportation networks, they mentioned drama “My Liberation Diary,” which ended in last May.

“My Liberation Day,” written by Park Haeyoung and starring Kim Ji-won and Son Sukku, revolves difficult daily lives of three main characters, who live in a small town in Gyeonggi-do, commuting to and from Seoul.

When Won asked Yoon if he has watched “The Liberation Diary,” Yoon said, “I got the message of the drama even though I did not watch it.”

Won said, “Although providing a house is important, our government’s job is to make sure the time used to commute is returned as time for oneself and for family,” adding, “To do that, President Yoon, with a strong will, said the opening date of GTX (Metropolitan Area Express)-A should be as early as possible."

He also said, “President Yoon, seeing how desperate people in the metropolitan area suffering from daily commutes are, strongly instructed the government to pull the date for a year or two and actively cooperate with other ministries,” adding, “I will reschedule the opening date for GTX to be as early as possible.”

President Yoon's order for innovation and management rationalization of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) in his business report seems to be an extension of this.

Regarding the President’s order, Won pointed out, “LH created a new city but did not make plans for traffic,” adding, “LH is responsible for not following the principle of ‘first transportation then move-in’ for the young people in metropolitan areas such as Gimpo, Hwaseong, and Paju who have to commute from a long distance.”
