SEOUL September 14 (Yonhap) -- Across the fields and desert located within the kingdom of Central Asia, kids are born with chronic curse of turning into animals. Princess Aya acted by actress Baek A-yeon was not a subject of exception. Because of the magical bracelet inherited from her mother; princess Aya manages to hide her true self from the others.

While princess Aya was growing up to be a girl, nearby kingdom Vatar grew in power using their strong military. Unfortunately princess Aya’s kingdom is under siege and in order to save the kingdom princess decides to marry the prince of Vatar, Bari acted by actor Park Jin-young.

Aya keeps her eyes on prince Bari, so that he would not attack her kingdom. However the situation of Vatar is not as simple as she thought. Prince Bari’s uncle continues to look for an opportunity to take out the prince an rule over the kingdom. The beast who seems to have been a human in the past also jumps into the competition of thrown leading Vartar into inevitable situation of war.

On top of princess Aya’s effort to save her kingdom, the romance between Bari and Aya is another factor driving the plot of the movie. The first impression given off by Bari in his fully covered body armor left a strong impression as a war fanatic. However outside of his armor Bari is a very sweet guy. After encountering with Bari, Aya learned about how Bari is a pacifist who was forced into act as a war fanatic under the pressure of his uncle. Bari tries to stop his kingdom from conquering Aya’s kingdom.

South Korean animation movie “Princess Aya” features aspects of interesting and unique background of ancient Central Asia, folk tales, heroic stories to mythology. The core plot of the animation is similar to “Romeo and Juliet,” in a sense that it draws the romantic story of enemy’s prince and princesses. However the young character’s journey to find their own ego and identity, also the significant changes Bari show after encountering princess Aya was featured with emphasis as well.

South Korean singer and actress Baek A-yeon who debuted through a audition program will act out princess Aya and Park Jin-young from GOT7 will act out prince Bari throughout the musical animation “Princess Aya.” Actress Baek A-yeon and actor Park Jin-young will perform duets and songs included in the soundtrack throughout the movie. “Princess Aya” was filmed with screen x technology which uses both sides of the screen including the main one in order to show the full scale of the movie.

“Princess Aya” will premiere on September 21 and the movie will consist of 90 minutes of total screen time.
