SEOUL, March 30 (Yonhap) -- Hybe’s Chairman Bang Si-hyuk will be the head producer of rookie girl group LE SSERAFIM, which will debut in May, according to Source Music, Wednesday.

LE SSERAFIM is a six-member girl group consisting of former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae-won and a fellow contestant of “Produce 48,” Huh Yun-jin. The group has attracted a lot of attention since the confirmed members are well-known from IZ*ONE and it is the first girl group of HYBE.

LE SSERAFIM is an anagram of “IM FEARLESS,” and holds the meaning of going forward without the fear about what the world thinks. 

Source Music said, “Bang put BTS into the ranks of world-class artists and succeeded groups TOMORROW X TOGETHER and ENHYPEN,” adding, “There are high expectations for LE SSERAFIM as Bang is in charge of the production of HYBE’s first girl group.”

LE SSERAFIM will combine the first appearance, message, and voice of the six members so that fans could make it a digital souvenir. This is expected to be available through a joint platform between HYBE and Dunamu, which will be introduced in the second half of this year.

Hybe announced its entry into the NFT market in partnership with blockchain company Dunamu. The digital souvenir is not an official NFT, but it is expected to be the first step for Hybe to enter related markets.
