SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Yonhap) -- The Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2021 hosted by Melon, Korea's major online music site, has opened the voting page for fans to pick the winner for this year's Top 10 Artist award and other categories.

Melon announced that it will allow fans to vote for the Top 10 Artist category, which currently includes BTS, IU, Lim Young-woong as the nominees, as well as the other eight categories on the MMA 2021 app and website from Nov. 8 at noon to Nov. 22.

The Top 10 Artist category selects ten of the most popular artists during the year based on the performance of each artists' music on Melon from Nov. 11, 2020 to Nov. 7 of this year. The artists are selected by adding the number of fans votes and Melon's usage data.

This year's top 10 nominees totaled up to 30 artists, including BTS with "Butter," IU's "Celebrity," Lim Young-woong's "My Starry Love," and aespa's "Next Level."

The awards consists of nine different categories, such as the Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Melon will also hold an attendance check event for fans to win a Macbook Air M1, turntable, and a CD player that can be hung on the wall, through a lottery.

This year's MMA will be held online at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4.
