SEOUL, Mar. 15 (Yonhap) -- KBS 2TV's new daily series "Woman in a Veil" started with the appearance of a mistreated daughter-in-law and wife.

According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings research company on Wednesday, the first episode of "Woman in a Veil," which aired at 7:50 p.m. the previous day, has recorded 10.4%.

In the first episode, Jung Gye-wool played by Shin Go-eun, the granddaughter-in-law of YJ Group, was criticized by her mother-in-law Cha Young-ran (Kim Ye-ryeong) and treated coldly by her husband Nam Yoo-jin (Han Ki-woong).

No one in-laws of Gye-wool remembered her birthday except Nam Man-joong (Lim Hyuk), the honorary chairman of YJ Group and Gye-wool’s husband’s grandfater, and ignored Gye-wool in every case.

Joo Ae-ra (Lee Chae-young), a friend of Gye-wool and chief secretary at YJ Group, pretended to be for Gye-wool in front, but behind her, she fooled Gye-wool by faking birth control pill as  bronchitis pill, signaling a stir in the future.

Seo Tae-yang (Lee Seon-ho), a mysterious man with a shaggy beard, visited an old mother-in-law's house with a firm look on his face while Gye-wool was abused and treated coldly at her in-laws, causing curiosity.

"Woman in a Veil" is a new series by producer Shin Chang-seok, who was very popular with "Young Lady and Gentleman" (2021), and is the story of a woman who lost everything because of her husband and his mistress.
