SEOUL, August 28 (Yonhap) -- Seosan Haemieupseong Fortress Festival, celebrating 600 years of history, will be held from October 7 to 9, Seosan-si and Seosan Foundation for Arts and Culture announced on Tuesday.
The theme of the festival will be "600 years of Haemieupseong built by grass-roots and 700 Years of Embracing the World,"
Around 50 programs are planned. Some of the programs are teaching and parade of martial arts in the Joseon Taejong period, experiencing Hopae (ID card during the Joseon dynasty), experiencing barracks, performing madangguk (theatrical art), late night facade shows using the Haemieupseong Fortress, guest singer performances, and spending a day at Haemieupseong.
It also offers a variety of historical attractions and entertainment, including walking along the Catholic pilgrimage route and experiencing folk games.
As the festival has not been held for the past two years due to COVID-19, the city and the foundation plan to prepare thoroughly and deploy quarantine personnel to work hard on safety.
