SEOUL, Sept. 29 (Yonhap) -- The ongoing tvN drama "High Class," starring Cho Yeo-jung, the heroine of the Oscar-winning black comedy "Parasite," is slowly revealing its hidden power with growing viewership and added mysteries.

According to Nielsen Korea on Tuesday, the 8th episode of "High Class," which aired at 10:30 p.m. the previous day, recorded 4.5 percent, achieving its best performance so far.

On the latest epsiode, Song Yeo-ul (Cho Yeo-jung), who was urgently arrested on charges of murdering Do Jin-seol (Woo Hyun-joo), the president of the fictional international school foundation due to Hwang Na-yoon (Park So-yi)'s false statement, ultimately raising a suspenseful atmosphere.

Towards the end of the drama, a mysterious person appears coming in and out of Song Yeo-ul's house and monitors everything that happens in the house through a CCTV, adding to the curiosity of the stranger as the person's finger had the same wedding ring as Song Yeo-ul.

"High Class" depicts Song Yeo-ul, a former lawyer who is framed for her husband's death, intertwined with the lies and secrets behind the perfect lives of South Korea's top 0.1 percent women after she decides to sending her child to an international school for elites.

The mystery drama, which started off with a 3.2 percent viewership, does not have much dramatic increase in viewer ratings due to it being aired late at night amid many similar works, however, the loyalty of the audiences can be perceived to be high.

In particular, the ratings also jumped to 4 percent as the process of finding the true culprit of Do Jin-seol's death and the emergence of a stranger monitoring Song Ye-ul caused a push in the increase of viewership.

Above all, it is entertaining to watch veteran actresses such as Kim Ji-soo, Park Se-jin, Gong Hyun-joo, and Woo Hyun-joo, and Cho Yeo-jeong perform together.

Still, the drama's genre is now too familiar and is a mixture of existing works. In order to climb over the 5 percent viewership barrier, a series of unique plot twists are needed.
