SEOUL, June 17 (Yonhap) -- Busan City will throw "2024 Busan Food Film Festa" for three days from the 28th at Busan Cinema Center, highlighting the cultural convergeance of film and gastronomy.
According to the municipality on the 17th, the 2024 Busan Food Film Festa will present various programs divided into three film sections under the theme of 'Rice, Everyday Life, and Escape.'
This year's opening film, 'Delicious Movies,' directed by three filmmakers, allows us to reflect on the meaning of food in our lives while observing characters seeking vitality through food.
The event will screen films portraying everyday stories of rice such as 'Our Season' and 'The Zen Diary.' Audiences can also enjoy the latest food films including 'Painted Fire, Remastered' and 'Off the Menu,' which showcase the transformation of rice.
Various side events where attendees can engage in fun conversations with experts will also be held. Preparations include thematic exhibitions featuring rice, side dishes, drinks made from rice, rice-based products, as well as activities like making vegetable pizzas.
Shim Jae-min, Director of Busan City's Culture and Sports Department, stated, "I hope that through this event, which goes beyond a simple film festival to connect people through food and culture and provide new experiences, people can enjoy the beauty and flavors of Busan."
