The 3D character "Baegaki," created jointly by the district and the Cultural Heritage Administration, explains a total of 10 places with important historical and cultural values, including the mineral spring Manse Dongbang, the old military dog training ground, the side road of Hanyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall), Baegakmaru (Bugaksan Trail), the Chotdaebawi Shelter, "Jan. 21 Incident Pine Tree (holds traces of the vicious battle between South Korean soldiers and North Korean infiltrators, with 15 bullets embedded in it)," and the Heliport of Cheong Wa Dae.
Once the visitors installs the application called "JUMP" on their mobile phone, it connects and recognizes the information board at the site or selects a location. Once that is done, Baegaki appears and begins to tell hidden stories related to various places in the site. One can also use the AR function to take a commemorative photo with Emperor Gojong or play a throwing game with a military dog.
"It is expected to have a lot of tourists with all the areas of Bugaksan mountain opening last month and Cheong Wa Dae opening today," said an official from Jongno-gu. "We decided to create an AR service to widely publicize the value of the historical and cultural resources located in this area while giving guidance to each location."
