Hybe releases story film for BTS' original web-based series '7Fates: CHAKHO'

SEOUL, Dec. 20 (Yonhap) -- A series of web-based cartoons and novels, titled "7Fates: CHAKHO," featuring K-pop supergroup BTS will be released.

Hybe, the corporation behind BTS, Seventeen and TXT, announced on Monday that it has released a story film, which showcases the central theme of the upcoming stories, on the official social media accounts for "7Fates: CHAKHO."

The story film, which was released prior to the launch of the web-based cartoons and novels. is based on Hybe's original story and depicts the fate of seven boys.

The video shows the BTS members one by one and gives a sneak peak on the story of seven boys bounded by fate.

In the film, RM raised expectations by saying, "Fate is what's closest to you yet only visible when you seek it," adding, "A new fate is unveiled. A new story begins!"

"7Fates: CHAKHO," the first series of "7Fates," will be unveiled in ten countries around the world on Jan. 15, 2022.

Earlier on, Hybe announced to expand its business by creating original content featuring its artists.

The company also promised to collaborate with artists of various fields of the pop culture industry to create web-based cartoons, novels and animations with members of their idol groups as main characters in the coming years.

In November, Bang Si-hyuk, founder and chairman of Hybe, shared an impressive array of four original series to be released on Naver Webtoon next year. Bang explained that "7Fates: CHAKHO" will be a story inspired by a Korean folk tale about seven tiger hunters who form a squad to take revenge for their loved ones. BTS members are planned to be featured as the seven hunters in the series.
