SEOUL, Mar. 8 (Yonhap) -- The local cable channel tvN will roll out its brand-new caper comic action series “Stealer: The Treasure Keeper,” starring Joo Won and Lee Joo-woo, on Apr. 12.

The upcoming television series will revolve around the preservation policy of the Cultural Heritage Administration and a cultural property team “Karma” of the Criminal Investigation Unit that tries to retrieve the missing cultural assets.

Joo Won will play the mysterious cultural asset thief, who steals Korea’s marvelous cultural assets that have been unlawfully seized by high-ranking members of society. Hwang Dae-myung lives a double life as a pathetic civil service in the morning and a veiled cultural asset thief “Skunk” at night. Hwang’s playful appearance will add zest to the upcoming comic action series, while his eye-catching action scenes will hold viewers on the edge of their seats.

Veteran actor Jo Han-chul, who is best known for his roles in “100 Days My Prince,” “Vincenzo,” and “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” will play Jang Tae-in, the team leader of the Cultural Heritage Administration of the Criminal Investigation Unit. The drama series sees Lee Joo-woo as Choi Min-woo, a detective who seems to be easy-going but becomes charismatic when arresting criminals.

Lee Deok-hwa is slated to appear as the vicious villain Kim Young-soo, who owns a huge fortune but is blinded by his endless greed and unlawfully covets cultural assets.
