SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Yonhap) -- APR said Tuesday it has become the first beauty company to simultaneously obtain an international certification for an artificial intelligence management system and an AI product reliability certification.

 

APR recently obtained ISO/IEC 42001, an international standard for AI management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission, as well as the AI Trust Mark from Nemko, a Norwegian international certification body.

 

ISO/IEC 42001 evaluates whether an organization systematically manages risks and opportunities related to AI systems and establishes and operates a management system for the responsible development, provision and use of AI.

 

For the certification, APR established an AI-based personalized care service and a management documentation system for AI, while also formalizing management's responsibilities.

 

The AI Trust Mark certifies the reliability and safety of AI applied to actual products.

 

The certification applies to the AI Care Mode of Medicube AGE-R's "Booster Pro X2," which analyzes skin conditions and accumulated usage history to recommend personalized care methods and stimulation levels.

 

APR plans to continue applying AI technology to its beauty devices based on the certifications and expand personalized care experiences that reflect individual skin conditions and usage histories.

 

"Securing the two certifications simultaneously is significant because it means that not only the AI technology itself, but also the company's management system for developing and operating AI and the reliability of AI applied to actual products have each been verified against international standards," an APR official said.
