SEOUL February 9 (Yonhap) -- Main vocalist Lee Na-rae and Shin Yu-jin of South Korean pop band Leenalchi which led the sensation though their track “Tiger is Coming” will be parting ways with the band.
Leenalchi uploaded a post through their official social media page on Thursday stating “Vocalists Lee Na-rae and Shin Yu-jin of the band who has been with Leenalchi for the past 4 years since the beginning of the group will be discontinuing their activities as the member.”
Moreover, the post stated “Since we have spent such memorable time together since the beginning of the band we have put in a lot of thought into the decision,” adding “We are grateful for their time with us and we will always be by their side cheering them for their future activities as solo artists.”
“I will be taking a big step to progress forward to embark on a new journey as an artist by parting ways with Leenalchi,” adding “I hope you guys will cheer for the solo artist Shin Yu-jin as well.” Vocalist Shin Yu-jin addressed through her social media account.
Before two of the members parted ways, band Leenalchi who is known to collaborate Korean traditional sounds with pop music, consisted of 7 members, vocalists Shin Yu-jin, Lee Na-rae, Kwon Song-hee, An Yi-ho, bass player Jang Young-gyu, Jeong Jung-yeop and drummer Lee Chul-hee.
“Tiger is Coming” which is a single released by the band on 2020, provided the band to receive three of the prizes at the Korean Music Award in 2021 and positive feedbacks from the audiences and throughout the industry.
