SEOUL, Nov. 22 (Yonhap) -- Super band BTS has won the “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” Award at the AMAs (American Music Awards), one of the three largest music award ceremonies in America, Monday (KST) for 3 consecutive years.

Since the 2019 ceremony that took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the band has grasped the trophy for 3 consecutive years. This is year is their 3rd time winning the honorable prize.

The 7-piece band has smash-hit Billboard Main Singles Chart “Hot 100” with Butter which took hold of top-rank for 10 consecutive weeks. Their collaboration with world-band Cold Play, “My Universe” marked 1st place on Hot 100 as well.

When BTS was announced as the winner of the award, the humble men showed their gratitude to their fans around the world, ARMYs, saying, “You are our universe.”

Before starting the ceremony, they had a brief interview on the red carpet. They were asked how their duet-performance with Cold Play at the AMAs will be like and how they felt about the whole collaboration process.

“Actually the whole process was organic. Chris expressed the song as a gift for us. So he came to Seoul to record with us,” said the leader of the band RM.

“The collaboration process itself was very fun and relaxing,” said V.
