SEOUL, Aug. 4 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl groups aespa and i-dle made their debut appearances at the major U.S. music festival, commanding the stage with energetic performances and showcasing their global presence.

SM Entertainment and Cube Entertainment said Tuesday that aespa and i-dle each performed for about an hour at the Lollapalooza Chicago festival held at Grant Park in Chicago.

Taking the Allianz Stage on Saturday (local time), aespa performed a string of songs, including its debut track "Black Mamba" and hit songs "Next Level," "Armageddon" and "Supernova."

The group also teamed up with American rapper Ty Dolla Sign for a joint performance of "Switchblade," on which he was featured.

"It was truly an honor to perform at Lollapalooza Chicago," aespa said. "Thanks to all the fans who sang along and cheered so passionately, we were able to enjoy the stage even more."

i-dle took the T-Mobile Stage on July 31 and performed 16 songs with a live band, including the new track "Gimme Dat Love" and hits such as "TOMBOY," "Queencard" and "I Hate Being Sick."

The group also unveiled the stage performance of another new song, "Morning," for the first time.

Despite rainy weather, i-dle led the performance with confidence and poise.

Before performing the final song, "Mono," leader Soyeon told the crowd, "No matter where you are or who you are, I hope we can all become one and enjoy this music together."
