SEOUL, May 26 (Yonhap) -- Laboh, a scalp care brand of Amorepacific, has launched the "UV Protector365" line designed to protect the scalp and hair from strong summer ultraviolet rays and harmful urban environmental factors, the company said Tuesday.
The company said the new products aim to expand conventional facial sun care routines to include scalp protection, targeting what it described as a previously overlooked segment in the sun care market.
The newly launched "UV Protector365" line offers SPF50+ and PA+++ sun protection while providing four-layer protection against UVA, UVB, ultrafine dust and infrared rays, according to the company.
Laboh said the products are designed to effectively protect the scalp during outdoor summer activities and in urban environments.
The formulas contain hyaluronic acid to moisturize scalps dried by sunlight, while ingredients such as madecassoside, PDRN and cica help soothe heat-sensitive scalps, the company added.
The products can be reapplied conveniently both before going outdoors and during outdoor activities, allowing users to manage UV protection and scalp care simultaneously.
The new line consists of the "UV Protector365 Roll-on Sun Serum" and the "UV Protector365 Scalp Sun Mist."
The roll-on serum uses a roll-on applicator that allows users to conveniently apply the product to areas highly exposed to sunlight, such as the crown, hair parting and hairline, without getting it on their hands.
The company said the serum uses an easy-wash formula with water-soluble UV-blocking ingredients that can be thoroughly cleansed with shampoo while leaving no sticky residue on the scalp.
The scalp sun mist is designed to quickly protect the entire scalp and hair through a light spray application.
Containing protein ingredients, the mist also helps protect hair from UV-induced damage and color fading, making it suitable for outdoor summer activities, according to the company.
Alongside the launch, Laboh plans to roll out a campaign highlighting the importance of scalp sun care.
Beginning in June, the brand will promote the message "A scalp sun care unlike anything before" through its official social media channels and outdoor advertisements near Samseong Station and Euljiro 1-ga in Seoul.
A Laboh official said awareness of sun care has grown as summers become longer and UV exposure intensifies, but the scalp remains an overlooked area in personal care routines.
The official expressed hope that the launch of the UV Protector365 line would encourage more consumers to recognize the importance of scalp sun care and adopt it as part of their summer routines.
The products are available at offline stores and the online mall of CJ Olive Young nationwide.
