SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) -- CJ Olive Young said Sept. 2 that it has opened a large-scale town store and a design-focused store in Busan, each reflecting the characteristics of the local market.
Olive Young opened Olive Young Nampo Town on Aug. 28 in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu, the old downtown area of Busan. Two days later, it opened the Millak the Market store, a design-focused location in Millak-dong, Suyeong-gu.
The Nampo store was relocated and expanded to accommodate the rapidly growing number of foreign tourists. The previous store occupied a single floor and measured about 200 pyeong, while the new store spans four floors and covers about 900 pyeong.
It is the first Olive Young store outside the Seoul metropolitan area to have three beauty consultants, who provide skin analyses and personalized consultations. The store also features a dermocosmetics zone and a "mask pack library," catering to foreign tourists' strong interest in functional cosmetics.
The Millak the Market store is designed around a fictional ship called "Olyoungho" docked at Millak Port, creating a unique space that evokes the lively atmosphere of a seafood market at a port.
An Olive Young official said, "Busan, where global tourists converge, is one of the key stages for leading the globalization of K-beauty. We will continue to pursue offline innovation by carefully combining the unique appeal of local markets with customer data."
