However, director strictly addressed that she did not make any contacts with the family of deceased.

The reason she avoided contacting the family members or friends of deceased was to make sure the movie stayed on instead of overwhelmed with the emotions.

“I was not only enraged by the school which pushed students to such environment knowing how rubbish it is, but also at the call center where they pushed kids to work tough jobs,” adding “As I continued on with my investigation to learn more about the incident, I calmly followed the lead books and articles were published in the past.” addressed director Jung throughout her interview.

Continuing on, director stated “If someone is a good writer and a director then he or she might be able plow through the production without falling into one extreme ends, however when I was first introduced with the incident, I thought I would be able to manage and write the scenario without closely engaging with the close ones of the deceased.”

Protagonist Sohee is a normal average teenager who loves to dance, however as she lands her job at a call center she suffers through emotional changes and become very depress and sensitive.

Due to the overly stressful work environment Sohee ends her life at a reservoir and detective Yoo Jin acted by Bae Doona digs down into the core of the unfortunate incident throughout the movie.

In reality the case of the dead student, gets filed as a simple suicide case however director Jung creates an imaginary character, detective Yoo Jin to take a deeper look into the hidden variables which played important role leading up to the unfortunate incident.

Imaginary character Yoo Jin, not only depicts a simple detective, instead it incorporates reporters, civic groups and more who have raised their voices regarding the incident.

By introducing an imaginary character Yoo Jin, director wanted to incorporate various characters who stood up to make a change within the work environment of teenagers and the society which was shocked by the loss of young soul due to inhumane work environment.

“When I was investigating the death of a high school student I came to realize it was not the first time someone has committed suicide at the same place, I was left in shock on the fact that nobody knew about such incident,” adding “The way Yoo Jin takes the case personally throughout the movie portrays the overwhelming enragement we all felt regarding the unfortunate incident.” addressed director Jung throughout her interview.

Moreover, director addressed “I am not sure whether I will get to address the idea of the work environment of teenagers, but by addressing the core reason on these deaths repeatedly we might be able to see the changes in the near future.”
