SEOUL, Sept. 30 (Yonhap) -- The Korea Film Archive (KOFA) said Wednesday it will screen the 4K remastered version of "Train to Busan" (2016) at its Cinematheque KOFA in Sangam-dong, Seoul, on Oct. 3 to mark the film's 10th anniversary.

 

The special screening is intended to give Korean audiences an opportunity to see the 4K version of the film. "Train to Busan" is currently being screened at overseas theaters in a 4K remastered version to mark its 10th anniversary, with releases beginning in the Philippines and followed by North America, Japan and Italy.

 

Director Yeon Sang-ho will attend a post-screening audience talk. He is scheduled to discuss behind-the-scenes stories from the production of "Train to Busan" and the significance of the genre in the history of Korean cinema.

 

"Train to Busan" follows passengers aboard a KTX high-speed train traveling from Seoul to Busan as they struggle to survive a mysterious outbreak of infection. The film stars Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi and Ma Dong-seok.

 

Released in 2016, the film became the first Korean zombie movie to surpass 10 million admissions.

 

Admission is free.
