SEOUL, July 22 (Yonhap) --Current representative director of HYBE’s subsidiary label ADOR Min Hee-jin, known for her work for branding Girls Generation, SHINEE, EXO and more at SM Entertainment revealed a new K-pop girl group “NewJeans.”
Through the official Web page, and YouTube channel of ADOR, music video of the K-pop girl group NewJeans' debut title track “Attention” was revealed.
Throughout the music video 5 members of the group runs through the streets of Spain showing off their natural and pure teen spirit.
Representative director Min Hee-jin describe NewJeans as “Pop music is like clothes that we wear every day, because our lives are very closely related to pop music.” adding ”NewJeans withholds the ambition to be an iconic group of the century like the jean that you never get tired of wearing, and to be the new genes within the music scene.
According to the promotion schedule released with the music video of “Attention”, total of 4 tracks will be included within the debut album of NewJeans, starting with the title track “Attention” followed by “Hype Boy”, “Cookie” and “Hurt”
Names of the members will be reviled on the midnight of July 23 along with the music video for “Hype Boy.”
Often times, when a K-pop group debut, the agency reveals limited amount of information regarding the group such as teasers, or concept photos to draw people’s attention. However up until the music video of “Attention” was released, everything about the group NewJeans, name of the group, their debut date, members, and more were kept a secret.
Critics mentioned that representative director Min Hee-jin’s unique way of promoting k-pop group which goes against popular formula for public relations showed her confidence.
NewJeans' debut album will be dropped on August 8 where as tracks will be revealed on August 1.
