SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- Chae Kyung-sun, art director of K-drama “Squid Game” has been invited to deliver a special lecture at her old school, Sangmyung University on the 11th of November, according to the university Friday.
Director Chae, class of 99 and Department of Stage Art major, will share advices for the students about film art and campus life.
“I wasn’t expecting a mash-hit with ‘Squid Game,’ but rather wanted to create a new game set for the players as the scenario was so intriguing. I think the books I read in the libraries and the videos I watched during my campus days acted as basis for creative activities,” said the director.
An art director of a film is the overall designer of the film’s artistic aspects from the characters’ positions and roles on stage to the set design, props and lighting.
Art director Chae has received the 48th and the 52nd Grand Bell Awards.
