SEOUL, May 26 (Yonhap) – K-pop boy group Highlight’s Son Dong-woon will release a solo album next month.

Son will drop his second mini album “Happy Birthday” through various music platforms on June 6 afternoon, according to the agency Around Us Entertainment on Thursday.

It is the singer’s first solo album in about three years and two months since the first mini album “Act 1 : The Orchestra,” which was released in April, 2019. The album was dropped ahead of Son’s enlistment in the military at the time.

The title of the album hints that it will be unveiled on Son Dong-woon’s 32nd birthday.

It contains a total of five songs that were both written and composed by the singer, including the title song “Today’s Weather,” “Rainy Season,” “Letter,” and “Moderato.”

He also wrote an essay introducing the tracks and included it in the album.

Son made a debut as a member of boy group BEAST in 2009. The singer, who has performed as a member of Highlight, whose name was changed in 2017, is actively performing in diverse fields, such as music, program, and musical.
