SEOUL, June 2 (Yonhap) -- The city of Busan and the Busan Tourism Organization will operate the "BTS THE CITY ARIRANG BUSAN Welcome Center" at the Busan Eurasia Platform from June 5-21, city officials said Tuesday.
The venue will serve as a hospitality and experiential tourism hub for BTS fans and visitors to the city. It will also be included in the official stamp rally course of HYBE's "BTS THE CITY" project.
The center will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the regular period and extend its hours to 10 p.m. from June 10-16.
Visitors will be able to access tourism information services and luggage storage and delivery services linked to local baggage transport providers.
The center will also feature a music experience zone, a K-beauty zone, a Photoism photo booth, a Busan tourism experience zone and a Google Gemini artificial intelligence experience booth.
Various related events will also take place at Busan Station Plaza and Gimhae International Airport during the operation period.
A five-meter-tall "K-pop Listener Boogi" sculpture will be installed at Busan Station Plaza to welcome tourists.
On June 12-13, a Busan pop-up store promoting local products and city policies will be held, alongside street performances from the Busan International Dance Festival, creative performances based on intangible cultural heritage and performances by local artists.
Traditional performances themed around "Arirang" will also be staged at the busking plaza on the second floor of Busan Station, including the Miryang Baekjung Nori folk performance, Gamnae Rope-Tugging and performances by the Miryang Arirang Arts Troupe.
Kim Kyung-deok, acting mayor of Busan, said the city will continue developing tourism content linked to major concerts, festivals and international events to encourage longer stays, boost spending and attract repeat visitors.
