SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actor Lee Min-ki and actress Han Ji-hyun will be starring in Wavve’s upcoming mystery thriller web series “Look at Me” set in a plastic surgery clinic.
The forthcoming drama will begin shooting next month, according to the production company West World Story on Wednesday.
“Look at Me” will tell the story of a prominent plastic surgeon who falls into a bottomless pit by being caught up in an unexpected incident. He then chases after a crime to reveal the whole story after practicing reconstructive plastic surgery for a crime victim.
The drama will shed light on different types of plastic surgeries that have never been talked about in such television series, ranging from those for beauty and those for reconstructive purposes.
The drama sees Lee as Cha Jung-woo, the pre-eminent plastic surgeon also dubbed the “God of Plastic Surgery,” while Han will play Lee Min-hyung, an empathetic detective.
Director Ahn Sang-hoon, who is known for previously producing several commercial films including “Blind,” “Empire of Lust,” and “Arang,” will take the helm. The work will be based on the script of screenwriter Hwang Ye-jin, whose scripts created the television series “Secret Mother” and “Mystery Freshman.”
This romance-thriller web series will be available on the Korean-owned streaming platform Wavve in the second half of 2023.
